How To Do A Toe Touch

A Toe Touch is the most common used jump cheerleaders do. The jump doesn’t look the way it sounds, believe it or not you don't actually touch your toes. Important tips are:
1. Always, keep your chest up! A lot of cheerleaders like to lean forward it makes them look funny and obviously incorrect.
2. Don't reach for your toes. If you reach for your toes, it makes your jump look lower and we all want pretty and high jumps!
3. Stay flexible by doing splits.
4. Keep your legs straight at all times while you bring them up as well as down.
5. ROTATE YOUR HIPS! This is my trick to getting high jumps. When you lift, your legs curve your hips up and your jumps will look even better! :)

  1. I never have done a toe touch and I never will because i cant do a split and also I would feel weird doing it. I have noticed that many high school cheerleaders lean foward to be able to do a beeter toe touch and it just looks bad. So I think this are some great tips and should be told to people trying to be cheerleaders. And if I ever do a toe touch now I know how to do it correctly....

  2. This is very interesting its kinda like a side leap just instead of extending your arms up you touch your toes! I love dancing and I see that cheerleading is very similar! =)

  3. Well, that is something else. The only thing that would hold me back from ever attempting to do this maneuver is lading straight on the ground while doing the split, yeah, just thinking about it hurts, alot, so I'm going to leave to you to touch all the toes you want, happy face.

  4. The picture looks really cool. Every person is doing the toe touch at the right time and it looks so clean. A toe touch looks really hard but it makes me want to try. It’s really interesting how there’s a specific technique.
